Deity Worship Training

ISKCON Deity Worship Ministry UK is happy to announce a proposed deity worship
course to take place over 3 weekends at the temple of Sri Sri Radha-Londonisvara.
In this course you will learn:
The importance of deity worship; what is a deity: which deities we worship and why;
what is the mood of temple worship; the role of guru in deity worship; and That deity
worship is an authorised process capable of giving us the highest spiritual success.
The necessity of cleanliness and purity in deity worship and Krishna consciousness;
how to prepare yourself for worship; what materials worship paraphernalia can be
made from and how to clean the worship paraphernalia.
The significance of the maha-mantra and other mantras in deity worship.
How to do the acamana and samanya arghya procedures; why we offer bhoga, and
how to offer bhoga, and how we know if the Lord accepts our offerings; what arati is,
why we offer it, what the items mean and what skills we need to perform it.
How to offer puja to the Lord. There will be a practical assessment of performing
sodasopacara puja (worship with sixteen items) of Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai, with students
working in teams and being both supported and peer-assessed by one another.
The course will be held for three consecutive weekends, including Friday evening, beginning
Friday October 14th and concluding Sunday October 30th. The timings for each weekend
are Friday 5pm – 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10am – 6pm with a lunch break from 1:30
– 3pm.
This course is a condensed version of the three-week Temple Worship unit offered annually
at Mayapur Academy as part of its 16-week international diploma course and will be
presented by Murli Manohara dasa and Nrsimha Kavaca dasa (ISKCON Deity Worship
Minister).
A certificate will be awarded to all who successfully complete the course.
This course will be of particular value to devotees doing worship in an ISKCON temple or
interested in doing deity worship in an ISKCON temple. The course will also be of immense
value to anyone worshiping deities at home.
The cost for the nine days teaching will be £150, which includes an extensive handbook and
Prasada.
As this course focuses on devotees developing the skills and values required for deity
worship and involves one-on-one training, space is limited to 22 places.
The course will take place only if there is sufficient demand so please do register as
soon as possible with the London School of Vedic studies by 25th August
