ISKCON Leadership Sanga (ILS), in Sridham Mayapur, was held from February 10th to 17th, 2012. The ILS provides an opportunity for GBC members to share with ISKCON’s initiating gurus, sannyasis, temple presidents, project leaders, and congregational leaders the process of strategic planning they have undergone and the progress they have achieved. This year, Nearly 400 ISKCON leaders attended this meeting. I was fortunate to attend this meeting in first time as a member. GBC hope that those devotees who attended will provide the GBC body with the invaluable feedback it needs. The hope is that it leads to a better strategic plan – one that everyone is enthusiastic to implement in their areas of responsibility.
H. G. Gopal Bhatt Prabhu is the Chairman of GBC Strategic planning. It integrates people and systems with enough structure to set goals and realize them. Srila Prabhupada wanted his movement to develop into a healthy society with compassion for the non devotees and strong support for its own members
– more devotees, happier devotees. There is Devotee Care Committee – which is attempting to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of ISKCON’s members. But without effective, spiritually committed leaders now and into the future, and flourishing temples, neither of these can succeed long-term. H. G Laxmi Moni Mataji arranged everything for this meeting. The arrangement of prasadam and accommodation was very nice. Meeting was very informative.
