Students from Sri Mayapur International School travelled to Odisha in May to perform at the Chandan Yatra festival at ISKCON Bhubaneswar Sri Sri Krishna Balarama Mandir. The 38 children, aged between 5 and 14 ,performed bhajans, dances , a mridanga presentation and finally the drama of The Shyamantaka Jewel.
Hundreds of visitors watched the performance, which was also shown in part on Odishan television, and commented on the devotion and talent of the students.
The performance began with Year 3 students singing a famous Odia bhajan in glorification of Lord Jagannath- ‘Ahe Nila Saila’. Many of the audience were crying when listening to the young children singing.

The children ,accompanied by teachers and parents, went on parikrama to the places in Bhubaneswar visited by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Following the performance. they visited Jagannath Puri for 3 days and went on Hari nama to different holy places.
The students are keen to participate in music, dance and drama and are happy to take part in devotional programs whenever they are invited. For more information about Sri Mayapur International School please visit www.mayapurschool.com
