Help to restore and preserve 47 hours of 16mm and 8mm films of Srila Prabhupada and ISKCON taken from 1965 to 1977.
Dear Friends and Donors,
It is our great pleasure to announce that we have reached our fundraising goal of $163,000 for PHASE ONE of Srila Prabhupada’s Film Restoration Project. The film transfer to 4K digital video has begun! This is confirmation that we have worldwide support and the project is sure to be completed. Once the film has been transferred to 4K quality, the original films will be safe, having made a digital copy in the highest resolution.
Next is PHASE TWO—cleaning each frame of film to pristine quality. This second phase will require an additional $490,000 to complete. It is labor intensive and time consuming, taking 10-12 months with a team of dozens working full time to complete. Prime Focus of Mumbai, the best company in the world for film restoration, will do the work and at Indian prices. Their clients are Sony, Disney, and other major Hollywood motion picture studios.
