Arjuna had an emotional and physical reaction to the view of the opposing soldiers on the other side. Now he will begin to explain his reasons for coming to the conclusion that he should not fight the battle. Of course, later Krishna will change Arjuna’s decision to desist. Arjuna has basically 5 categories of objection to the battle.
Since for the next 17 Chapters of Gita, Chapters 2-18, Krishna will speak philosophy to Arjuna, I wanted to focus on some philosophical basics that all philosophy shares. The terms used here come from our modern philosophical lexicon of words describing philosophical concepts like Epistemology, Truth, Knowledge, Ontology etc.
