During the Purushottam month Gold Coast Bhakti Centre in Australia arranged for the local congregation to participate in extra spiritual activities to take full advantage of the spiritual benefits of this special time.
What is so special about Purushottam month? The example is given that during the month of Karthik any spiritual activities will give thousands times more benefit than doing same activity on normal day. So in Purusottama month any spiritual activities done will give thousands times more benefit than doing the same activities on one day of Kartik month. So you imagine how much Spiritual benefit one can get in this wonderful month.
On the auspicious Purushottam ekadasi, Saturday 12th of August Bhakti Centre hosted a 12 hour kirtan event. It was a day full of blessings. Firstly there was mangalati and Srimad Bhagavatam class given by HG Ambika Devi Dasi Prabhu then the kirtans started. Local Kirtaneers, plus kirtaneers from Brisbane yatra, Melbourne yatra, Sydney Yatra and New Govardhan Northen NSW all participated from 10 am to 10 pm. Ekadasi Prasadam was provided throughout the day with a very special dinner cooked by well known senior iskcon chef HG Dwaipayana Prabhu.
Thanks to Vrindavan Kirtan Das and Nandanandana Das for organising the event, Thanks to those who participated and attended and special thanks to all the local Bhakti Centre devotees for organising, hosting, cleaning and providing prasadam etc . They made it all possible.
