‘Twas Srila Prabhupada on the Vyasasana
A Poem Composed by Sesa das
Jaya Radha Madhava Kunja Bihari
Eyes closed, karatalas ringing
Head trembling, full voice singing
Tempo building then crescendoing
Obeisance to Guru, blessing to all beings
‘Twas Srila Prabhupada on the Vyasasana
Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya
Three times the Sanskrit invocation rang out
Calling ardent listeners from those about
Qualifications of the speaker beyond doubt
A platform to deliver truth with all its clout
‘Twas Srila Prabhupada on the Vyasasana
Chant, Chant, Chant! Dance, Dance, Dance!
Next the Holy Name took stage, he often played a gong
Men, women, children playfully bounced, then around him began to throng
“Will I get a cookie from his hand, perhaps they won’t last long”
Holy sounds, joyful steps, spiritual desires strong
‘Twas Srila Prabhupada on the Vyasasana
A Flower Festival Showering His Blessings
Seeing his young disciples never tire
With Kirtan booming, he takes us higher
Flowers offered at his feet, from his hand now shower
Reciprocating with each blissful dancer
‘Twas Srila Prabhupada on the Vyasasana
