“On arrival, just cooking Prasad for desperate people, army and helpers, its a
big yajna but l feel from the heart that it right thing to do, serving Krishna
in unity with people who would never come so close to devotion service,
soldiers are distributing prasadam in the town,
volunteers are chopping vegetables, and so much appreciation and thankfulness,
it greatâ. [Loka Saranga]
It took only one day to drive to Northern Czech from London , and within two
hours hot meals and supplies were being shared out with the young volunteers who
had travelled from afar to assist in the crisis.
Torrential rains have gone, flooding waters have been receding and the sun was
shining again in the Czech town.
After three days in safety upstairs, without power, running water or a cellphone
signal, stranded people stepped down to face a scene of destruction.
Shops are boarded up, roads blocked, no public transportation, scenes
reminiscent of apocalyptic movies.
“The town was submerged by a flood wave brought by the Oder River that was
fuelled by record rains in northeast Czech Republic. Whole towns were flooded,
roads destroyed, vehicles swept away, animals drowned, teams of young
volunteers had amassed to assist the rescue workers and army, a hot meal goes a
long way in these miserable conditionsâ [Loka Saranga]
They had just returned from Turkey, assisting with the forest fires and now the
other extreme of too much rain , symptoms of climate change.
SB 8.16.56, Translation
One should distribute vinnu-prasada to everyone, including the poor man, the
blind man, the nondevotee and the non-brahmana. Knowing that Lord Visnu is very
pleased when everyone is sumptuously fed with vinnu-prasada, the performer of
yajĆa should then take prasada with his friends and relatives.
