Ganga Journey April 2013

I have never seen anywhere on this planet as beautiful as the land touched by our merciful Mother Ganga.

Then add that to the wonderful association of nice devotees, particularly HH Mahavisnu swami, then add the mission of Lord Caitanya and you have the recipe for an unforgettable experience and unimaginable mercy, for those like myself who’s only hope of advancement in Krishna consciousness is the gift of causeless mercy.

This was our 7th voyage and we were covering a stretch of the Ganga we had not travelled on before. We started near Aligarb and ended in Kanpur. So many holy places are found on the banks of the Ganga, we visited the town of Ajamila, the kingdom of Maharaj Uttamapad (Dhruva Maharaj’s father),and Vyasadev’s ashram to name a few.

We daily read from HG Rupa Vilasa’s book on Haridas Thakur, performed Kirtan with the villagers, and distributed 1,200 small books.

One thing I am sure about, there is nothing in the three Worlds that is tastier than “poor man’s feast” cooked on the Ganga islands and relished in the association of devotees. Enjoy the movie.
