Srimad Bhagavatam Class 11.2.11 | By H.G Ramarupa Prabhu | 30th Dec 2025 – Iskcon Juhu

by Administrator / 30 Dec 2025 / Published in testing  /

The lecture centers on Srimad Bhagavatam, Canto 11, Chapter 2, focusing on the dialogue involving Maharaja Nimi, the Nine Yogendras, and the teachings of Narada Muni. H.G Ramarupa Prabhu emphasizes that asking questions about Krishna and devotional service is the highest form of intelligence and benefits everyone—the speaker, the questioner, and the listener. Such inquiries purify the entire universe because they relate to the eternal duty (sanatana-dharma) of the living entity: loving devotional service to the Supreme Lord.

Drawing from Srila Prabhupada’s purports and other scriptural examples (Parikshit Maharaja, the sages of Naimisharanya, Valmiki and Narada Muni), the lecture explains that sincere questioning awakens remembrance of Krishna and leads to deep spiritual relish. Understanding Srimad Bhagavatam means recognizing Krishna’s unlimited qualities and pastimes and cultivating devotion with love from the very beginning—not mechanically or out of obligation.

The speaker elaborates on the qualities Krishna bestows upon devotees, especially intelligence (buddhi), knowledge, freedom from illusion, tolerance, mercy, truthfulness, fear of maya, charity, austerity, and fame used solely to glorify Krishna. These qualities enable a devotee to remain equipoised in happiness and distress and progress toward pure devotion. Stories—such as Garuda being humbled by Lord Vishnu—illustrate the importance of humility and mercy.

A major theme is the incomparable power of association with pure devotees, even for a moment, which can grant liberation and devotion. Regular hearing of Srimad Bhagavatam removes anxiety, envy, and conflict, bringing peace and unity, even within spiritual communities. Ultimately, the lecture concludes that devotees should seek only one benediction: to remain eternal servants of Krishna, always in the association of devotees, hearing and chanting His glories.
