HG Vatsala Pr – Srimad Bhagavatam Class

by Administrator / 26 Jan 2026 / Published in testing  /

The preparation for death through Krishna consciousness. Drawing from the example of Maharaja Parikshit, who calmly accepted his impending death by fully surrendering to the Lord and hearing about Vishnu/Krishna, the speaker explains that fear of death disappears when one takes shelter of the Lord’s lotus feet. The soul is eternal and unaffected by the destruction of the body, as taught in the Bhagavad-gita.

The talk stresses that material life involves repeated birth and death across 8,400,000 species, creating deep attachments that bind the soul. Chanting the holy name is described as the essential “medicine” for this age (Kali-yuga), capable of purifying desires, removing sinful habits, and awakening love for Krishna. Srila Prabhupada’s teachings are repeatedly cited: all devotional practices, books, and programs ultimately aim to inspire faith and absorption in chanting.

Faith develops gradually through chanting, hearing about Krishna, serving devotees, and engaging in devotional practices. Chanting is portrayed as powerful, joyful, and universally accessible—the only effective means of spiritual realization in this age. The gathering concludes by reaffirming that constant remembrance and glorification of Krishna is the path to freedom from fear, especially fear of death, and the way back to Godhead.
