In society today over forty billion animals are slaughtered every year. It is so unnecessary and very, very sinful. Most Christians, Jews, Muslims and followers of other religions endorse the killing of animals and slaughter houses are engaged in horrific blood letting of innocent animals. Where is the kindness? How do they show the compassion that they all talk so much about and desire?
AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada started the Hare Krishna movement in the mid nineteen-sixties, with a message of non-violence and especially protecting the cow and the bull. In the Bhagavad-gita Krishna says: ‘If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.’ Krishna provides so many different varieties of foods to eat. There is no need to slaughter the animals. In this film we will hear from devotees in Norway who started a vegetarian restaurant in Oslo. They explain how the Krishna conscious philosophy has helped them in their lives.
