Dear Devotee filmmakers,
In 2006, the First Vaisnava Film Festival was held in Mayapur during the Gaura Purnima utsava.(http://blservices.com/first-vaisnava-film-festival) There were 35 submissions in various categories. There were thousands of dollars in prizes given to the winners. There has been a noticeable lack of productions since that time, and, therefore, there hasn’t been a large enough selection to justify an awards evening. I am floating this trial balloon to get a more accurate picture of what has been produced in the past seven years. Please inform me about what has been done if you are the producer. Perhaps you know of some “outside” programming that has been made. Of course, I am familiar with the outstanding work of Vasudeva p., Krishna-lila dd, and Prananath p. Certainly there must be others. Please let me know what you’ve done! Let’s see if there is enough for another wonderful evening of recognition and inspiration during the Mayapur festival.

PS Mass media was so important to Srila Prabhupada that he said to Karadhar in 1972: This television program is very much encouraging to me, and I wish to take part in it immediately. I wanted to cancel all other engagements and go direct to Los Angeles….
One thing more, if we are successful in this program then my dreamt mission of life to spread Krishna Consciousness all over the world will be fulfilled. I wish to speak on the great philosophy of Bhagavata Dharma at least once in a week on Television, so if arrangement is made by you for this, then you will be doing the highest service for Krishna.
