Preaching Krishna Consciousness and book distribution in school, college and higher circle are Srila Prabhupada intention. Program at school and college will please him, as Srila Prbhupada stated in his letter,”…. If these book are introduced in the school and colleges, so many beautiful soul will be saved.” SPL to Nayanabhirama, 1 December 1970.
The chance to preach in the college came when the The Family of Hindu College Students (KMH-keluarga mahasiswa Hindu) Telkom University ( STT Telkom Bandung) on its aniversary and Utsawa Dharma Gita competition, invited the Indonesia Bhaktivedanta institute as a speaker on “Bhagavad Gita” seminar.
Srila Prbhupada stated on his letter ”….That is a good sign that the students are still intellegent to find what is the best information about God and how to approach Him….” SPL to Krishnakanti,29 November, 1970. On the other letter Srila Prbhupada also stated that “These engagements at school and collage is most important task. If school become interest with our philosophy and we can introduce these books, than it is our success”. SPL to Rupanuga, 1 December 1970. It is indicated that the students are very thirsty to find out the meaning of life and how to keep in touch with God.
The seminar was held on 9 November, 2013 in Telkom university, bandung. The participans were the students from universities around Java, such as Indonesia University, Airlangga University Surabaya, State university of Solo, ITB bandung, IPDN Bandung, totally there were 250 students on seminar.
The students were enthusiasticly listening the explanation of Bhagavad-gita given by his grace Sachi Putra das, the chief of Publication department of Indonesia Bhaktivedanta institute. On the last part of the seminar the moderator lead the discussion and it gave a chance to the audiences to ask questions. Unpredictablely, so many questions appeared but because of the limited time, the moderator chossed five question randomly. The audieces who didn’t have chance,they wrote their questions in a piece of paper along with their email address.
The committee was satisfied with the seminar. They said that in the future they will do seminar with different topic. As prbhupada mention in one of his letter that”….this is an idial opportunity for distributing our book also,….” SPL to Karandhara, 22 April, 1971. We also distributed many of srila Prabhupada books and bhativedanta isntitute books to the students in Telkom University, Bandung.
