On December 28th, devotees from Juhu Beach drove to the Kalyam Prison northeast of Mumbai, where they spoke to almost two hundred inmates. These men were receptive to the chanting and responded in kirtan. The officer in charge of the jail encouraged the prisoners to read Bhagavad-gita. Bhima Prabhu, speaking in Hindi. told them that Nelson Mandela had memorized slokas from the Gita when he was imprisoned in South Africa. The devotees presented each prisnoer with either a Marthi or Hindi edition of the Gita.
