I recently had the privilege of meeting a special person to all of us. His name is Gary Liss or Gary Prabhu as most of us know him. I listened with great anticipation for one hour of the fascinating true story of two boyhood friends from Chicago and the trials and tribulations of their travels during their early twenties at The Krishna Lounge in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gary’s boyhood friend was none other than, Radhanath Swami. I took copious notes and asked a few questions. That evening, I chanted Hare Krishna, and while listening to some of my favorite George Harrison music, wrote a beautiful poem entitled, TWO LIVE HINJEWS. I would love to share it with the dandavats.com community with Krishna’s blessings. This poem will be published with many others in, “SWEET SERENITY” a poetic spiritual journey dedicated to George Harrsion, this summer.
TWO LIVE HINJEWS written by Bhakta Steven
He’s from Chicago his name is Gary Liss
At Krishna Lounge he humbled me into a state of total bliss
Travelled the world with his maven, “Ain’t Misbehavin”
I listened to his escapades with lifelong friend, Richard Slavin
Two Live Jews became Two Live HinJews
A pathway along “Any Road” they were paving
Didn’t exactly know what they were looking for
Maybe the road to Mandalay was their spiritual haven
The Lord promised you will find it and so much more
George said please look “Behind That Locked Door”
A five year journey together “Here, There, and Everywhere”
The cubbies split along “The Long and Winding Road” to find their fare
One to Israel and the other to India, desiring to be a sadu
To Nepal, The Himalayas, Cat Man Do, “Love Me Do”
Walking through the rice paddies of life, let your smile be your umbrella
Two Live HinJews at that very moment said, “Do I know you fella”
Mr. Gary Liss gives spiritual talks and is now Gary Prabhu
He takes healthy walks in the golden state on a beach called, Malibu
Mr. Richard Slavin is a friend of us all as George Harrison introduced Bob Dylan
Radhanath Swami lives within the pages of the “Bhagavad Gita”, with Lord Krishna he’s always chillin’
