Nimai Devi Dasi:ISKCON Leicester will host Kirtan Fest, 24 hours of mantra, music, and meditation on 13-14 September.
Hundreds of devotees from all over the UK will participate in the two-day festival at the Centre at 31 Granby Street, Leicester, 9am-9pm each day.
The cream of mostly British kirtan leaders will be attending this year’s Kirtan Fest, including Amala Harinama Das and Nadiya Mani Devi Dasi, Gaurangi Devi Dasi, Jahnavi Harrison, Nama Rasa Das and Tulasi Sutaria, Birju and Kishori Jani, Ravi Pattni, and many others.
There will be twelve hours of Hare Krishna Maha mantra chanting each day, along with a maha street harinama on the Saturday night.
This year’s Kirtan Fest takes place during Leicester City Council’s Heritage Week, which celebrates the City’s architecture and history. Visitors to the magnificent and historic ISKCON Centre on Granby Street will also participate and enjoy the spiritual nature of the building and its community.
“We would like to invite devotees to come and participate in the kirtan. ISKCON Leicester is fortunate to be in a City Centre location. People are attracted by the sounds and literally walk in off the street to spend the day chanting and dancing. Please come and share the excitement.”
Prashadam will be served three times a day, each day. There will also be free parking all day Saturday at the York Street Car Park, and free street parking on Sunday.
