Rāmeśvara: Devotees once told me you said that the demigods like this movement very much so that they’re standing in line to take their birth in the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement.
Srila Prabhupāda: Yes. They like to come here on this planet. Just like you Kṛṣṇa conscious men, you are very much enthusiastic to go to India. India has no material attraction, but why our men wanted to go to India in spite of so many difficulties? Similarly, in the higher planet, heavenly planet, they are so much engrossed with material happiness that there is no facility. But here there is facility, in this earth, Bhūrloka. Bhogaiśvarya-prasaktānāṁ tayāpahṛta-cetasām (BG 2.44). One who is too much attached to material convenience and everything, they have no opportunity for Kṛṣṇa consciousness. The demigods are lined up waiting for the right Krishna Conscious family who CAN protect them from the material world as they grow up. If the mother and father do not chant 64 rounds before conception and are not serious devotees in their Krishna Consciousness, then how can an advanced demigod feel safe to take shelter in such a family? One will simply attract a soul according to their level on conscious.
Regardless, any soul who is born into a devotee family who associates with devotees is still very special however, they may not be the advanced demigods Prabhupada is talking about when he said they are waiting for the right conditions to take birth here. Although there are exceptions like Prahlada who took birth in a demons family however, some will argue that was Lila because his demonic father was actually a fallen devotee who fell down from Vaikuntha and was allowed to engage in Lilas with Krishna and His devotees for three births as a demon.
The fact is in most cases the demigods carefully choose a very advanced Krishna Conscious family and circumstances to appear in that will protect them from the exploitation of the material world and if there are no such families then they will stay lined up until there is such a Krishna Conscious family and ‘caring’ devotee association becomes available.
Any soul who is born into a situation where their parents are associating with Srila Prabhupada’s Books or seeing street kirtans are still very special, great devotees can come from any situation simply due to good association.
Some demigods are just happy to end up in Lord Caitanya’s Movement and may take birth in any family that eventually leads them to Krishna. After all their are many great devotees today on the planet and many were even born in meat eating families so to say the demigods are taking birth in advanced Krishna conscious families may not always be the case, there are ALWAYS exceptions.
