Prasadam – There one Minute, Gone the Next!

by Administrator / 28 Mar 2015 / Published in Reports  /

I have had a few queries from some devotees about the last title of our prasadam distribution venture – ‘Banana Plates to Gold Leaf’ – so for anyone else who might be curious and found it too cryptic it as simply a reference to the banana plates we serve the prasadam on, and the gold leaf that will be part of the stunning Temple of the Vedic Planetarium.

So we were out again on Wednesday and this time it was pretty hectic. Firstly before leaving the ISKCON campus our motor rickshaw broke down! So we waited while it was being fixed… and waited… and waited… and waited… we were just about to call it a day and low and behold; chuck, chuck, chuck, vroooom! And we were off!

Of course we now had to make it to the boat crossing on the Jalangi, then across the Jalangi, then to the nearest village, distribute the prasadam and then get back before dark, not least because of the nightly mosquito invasion!

Somehow or another we just about achieved that and as ever distributed every morsel of the delicious kicthari prasadam. It is so interesting that when we arrive on the outskirts of any of the villages they are generally quiet, with maybe just a few boys playing cricket (they of course will be in mourning now, as is the whole nation as India have been knocked out of the world cup!), however before we can get the first bucket of prasadam off the rickshaw, the village has become an effective metropolis with the prasadam the centre of attention.

The Moms team on Wednesday (a skeleton crew) was;

Hrdaya Caitanya das (Radhadesh)

Vinode Manjari dd (Radhadesh)

Ananga Mohini dd (Mayapur)

Amar das (Mayapur)

Goloka dd (Dublin)

Praghosa das (Dublin)
