50 years ago, Srila Prabhupada with many difficulties reached the shores of America.
50 years later…..we all have got this wonderful opportunity to express our gratitude to Srila Prabhupada.
We all the followers of Srila Prabhupada know what incredible difficulties Srila Prabhupada went through to get that boarding pass on the cargo ship. That was just the beginning. On the cargo ship he suffered sea sickness, vomiting, heart attack. When he reached America and when he was all alone in New York his belongings got stolen. He was threatened by the drug addicts. What not.
Now time has come to show our gratitude to Srila Prabhupada. It’s the Golden Jubilee celebration of Srila Prabhupada boarding the Jaladuta from the shores of Kolkata.
For last few months we were advertising for the Kolkata event on 13th August 2015 at Netaji Indoor Stadium. But only few devotees enquired about the accommodation but we are not getting confirmation for the participation on the 13th August event at Kolkata.
The situation is such that apart from the ISKCON Kolkata congregation of 2000 devotees, only 200 devotees from other cities and countries has confirmed. The Netaji Indoor Stadium has a seating capacity of over 12,000 +.
Now we Kolkata devotees are very nervous and thinking were we over-confident? We don’t know what to do. It will look very odd if the stadium with seating capacity of 12,000 is only half filled or worse if any less than that.
We appeal to all the recipients of this email (especially temples in India) to encourage devotees of their Yatra/congregation to try to come for this grand Kolkata event on 13th August 2015 at Netaji Indoor stadium. We have made special arrangements for the Sannyasis and temple presidents.

Also humbly request to take the 4 or 5 print out of the attached poster and paste it on the most prominent places in your temple and temple notice board so that devotees can come to Kolkata.
At Kolkata we are trying to make arrangements within our humble means so that devotees are comfortable when they come here.
We are very hopeful that devotees from all over India will book their train tickets immediately to reach Kolkata by 12th August night so that they can attend the Grand celebration at Netaji Indoor Stadium on 13th August 2015. They can book their return tickets on 14th August morning.
Let us show our love to Srila Prabhupada who took all the inconveniences for all of us and sacrificed his comforts of Vrindavan dham to travel to completely unknown and unfamiliar place, by reaching Kolkata on the 13th August 2015. We know many of you have to take leave from your job or cancel some other plans of yours, but should we not do it? It’s now our turn to say Srila Prabhupada…thank you. Let’s do this little sacrifice for Srila Prabhupada. Let’s all the followers of Srila Prabhupada congregate at Kolkata. Let so many devotee’s come to Kolkata so that we at ISKCON Kolkata are overwhelmed and all our plan’s fail to accommodate all of you. Let so many devotees turn up to thank Srila Prabhupada that our prasadam team fails to serve all of them. Let’s so many people turn to thank Srila Prabhupada that as many people are inside Netaji Indoor stadium double the number is outside the Netaji Indoor stadium and we Kolkata devotees have to make extra arrangements to put LED TV’s outside the stadium.
We at Kolkata want all our calculations to fail. Let so many of us turn up at Kolkata on 13th August that there is complete chaos. Let the world see and witness the love for Srila Prabhupada. We at ISKCON Kolkata want that all our calculations fails and there are so many devotees turning up that we are unable to feed all of you.
We devotees at ISKCON Kolkata want to miserably fail this time………and let’s devotees love for Srila Prabhupada wins.
It’s time we express our gratitude by coming out of our way to please Srila Prabhupada!
Come to Kolkata…Kolkata chalo…..March to Kolkata.
