Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
It gives me great pleasure to inform the community of devotees that Her Grace Caitanya Rupini devi dasi (Cheper Annaniyazova) has been released from prison in Turkmenistan after serving just under a year of her seven year sentence for illegally crossing the border and other unspecified charges. Her release comes as part of an annual amnesty that is offered by the President of Turkmenistan in conjunction with the observance of Ramadan. I also understand that she is in good health and spirits and that a number of inmates who have taken up the chanting of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra by virtue of their fortunate association with Mother Caitanya Rupini were also released.
I would like to thank all of the devotees who kindly wrote to Caitanya Rupini while she was in prison. I have been told that those letters meant a great deal to her. I will forward any correspondence I receive directly from her about your letters upon receipt.
Your servant, Hari-kirtana dasa
