MahaPrabhu’s Gift to mankind
All merciful, all auspicious Sri Caitanya MahaPrabhu, who blessed the earth by pouring the nectar of love of Sri Krsna, uncovered the mist that surrounded over the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He showed us the way that we can have extremely personal relationship with the Lord. MahaPrabhu assured that living beings have an eternal relation with Krsna- “jiver svarupa haya nitya Krishna dasa” (eternal servant of Krsna) and the relationship can be revived any moment.
For the benefit of all living beings , MahaPrabhu had enlivened the teachings of Lord Krsna to Arjuna in Bhagwat Gita, where the Lord had revealed that the best way to attain self realisation is by following the path of Bhakti or rendering devotional service unto the lotus Feet of Sri Krsna. By gifting us “Harinama Sankirtana”(congregational chanting of Lord’s names) MahaPrabhu made us realise that it is very easy to follow the teachings in Bhagwat Gita. He opposed the Mayavadi route of attaining salvation by Jana and Yog as by following this route there exists every chance of again falling down. MahaPrabhu said that a devotee can develop intimate relation with Krsna – Santa, Dasya, Sakhya, Vatsalya, Madhurya and enjoy complete knowledge, happiness and bliss in any place- material world or spiritual world.
Caitanya MahaPrabhu propounded the philosophy of Achintya Bheda – Bheda. As per this concept since every living being is a tiny little part and parcel of the Lord, he is similar in quality and still different in quantity compared to Sri Krsna. The Lord is one and simultaneously different from the living beings. The best suitable example is that Sri Krsna is like the sun from where all the energies emanate yet the sun is different from its rays. Although there is no difference between the energy and energetic, the energetic is Supreme and energy is its subordinate. MahaPrabhu stressed that there are three identities – Supreme Personality of Godhead-Krsna, Supersoul that resides inside our heart in the form of Parmatma and the soul of the living being. Supersoul, in the form of Chaturbhuj , Narayana, sits inside our heart and is witness to all our acts and fulfils all our desires.
He stressed, “Harer nama Harer nama Harer namaiva kevalam; kalau nasty eva nasty eva nasty eva gatir anyatha”- in the dark age of Kali there is no respite for human beings from three fold miseries, however if the human surrenders and chants the pious name of Hari he is relieved. It is due His kindness that the sinful people in the age of Kali have an easy way of relishing ecstatic love for Sri Krsna and wash away all the sins as He has bestowed us with very simple process of hearing about the pastimes of Krsna and chanting the Holy names of Sri Krsna.
