Please the Lord by pleasing you
Without you no knowing what to do
Without Guru’s shelter one can not serve the Lord
And is cursed to remain materially absorbed
As soon as the disciple does not follow
Then their existence becomes hollow
Trapped in this world and devoid of devotion
Constantly mislead by sentimental emotion
Service for you my saving grace
Saving me from degraded disgrace
Your mercifully forceing open my eye’s
Giving me shelter from material lies
Material conceptions make one want to be master
And this can only lead to disaster
The only path without defeat
Is the shelter of your two lotus feet
Conditioned by illusion and bewildered by pride
Behind false ego the soul trys to hide
But due to devotion you see through pretence
Aversion to surrender animalistic defence
Guru’s service is beyond sentiment
Delivering souls who were hell bent
Selflessly taking others karma
And in exchange He gives them dharma
Service for Guru the perfection of desire
Giving shelter from the material fire
In this world of self centred depravity
Guru’s instruction and the Name, the only shelter for sanity
Your deep desire is to give the Name
This is no game you expertly explain
No amount of wealth can buy one Name
The Lord and His Name are one in the same
The only way to cross this great ocean
Is with Guru as captain of the ship of devotion
Redirecting ego with Guru in the centre
Only then into Krsna’s pastimes may the jiva enter
I pray that I may serve you with humble submission
And not challenge nor covet your exalted position
Desireing the shelter of your two lotus feet
So that in my heart you may take your rightful seat
