The position of a part-time and full-time teacher carries a range of responsibilities which include:

Discharging conscientiously and with all due and proper care, attention and diligence the principle duty of educating children in accordance with the policies and practices of the school, the NSW Board of Studies and the directions of the Association of Independent Schools NSW.

Developing educational plans and implementing such plans for the relevant KLAs according to the NSW Board of Studies syllabi, the Gurukula policies on the integration of Krishna Consciousness and other related documents.

Preparing and teaching devotional studies based on the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.

Actively participating in further learning and professional development for teachers, and implementing the best practice teaching methodology in their teaching.

Performing all the duties as imposed by law and directed by the school, and abiding by the school’s Code of Conduct for Teachers and Staff Members.
Eligibility, Qualifications and Personal Attributes
-
Bachelor of Education, or Graduate Diploma in Education, or equivalent from an accredited college or university

Active membership with the Institute of Teachers NSW
-
Teaching experience in the relevant subject areas is preferred

Australian residents or holders of a relevant visa allowing employment in Australia

Being an active and practicing devotee whose lifestyle and professional conduct are in accord with the teaching precepts presented by Srila Prabhupada

All candidates are required to have no criminal record and have a current Working With Children Check clearance from the Office of the Children’s Guardian NSW and ISKCON Child Protection Office.
