Dear Vaishnavas, Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.
The degradation of Kali yuga is evident in everything that is happening around us today. The society at large is devoid of any sense of respect for God. Everywhere we see godlessness is rampant. The important reason for this is because the government itself is atheistic. We are governed by the most ridiculous people who can do anything to stay in power. Though we do not have anything to do with the political field, it hurts when we see that people in respectable position speak and act ridiculously.
Yesterday there was an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court of India by the Archeological Society of India (in relation to the construction of a canal across India and Srilanka), saying that “There is no concrete evidence of the existence of Lord Rama or the Rama Sethu which was believed to have been built by Lord Rama”. The most dangerous thing behind this statement is that the government is denying the very foundation of the culture which ruled this holy land for millions and millions of years. Our land is governed not by these rascals who loot in the name of heads of the country but by the cultural and spiritual values propounded by the Supreme Lord in His forms of Lord Sri Krishna and Lord Sri Ramachandra. Mahabharata and Ramayana are still considered as the most sacred texts which sustain spiritual values among the citizens of this country, nay of this entire world. It is absolutely ridiculous that when the whole world is taking these sacred texts as very important and do research on them, the country which owns them, rejects its values.
The government understanding that a big trouble is brewing because of their stupid statement, immediately withdrew it but is yet to apologize (which their ego will not allow them to do). The past leaders of this country dreamt of Ram Rajya to be established one day, which is so nicely portrayed in the text of Srimad Bhagavatam 9.10.53,
naadhi-vyaadhi- jaraa-glaani / duhkha-shoka- bhaya-klamaah mrtyus caaniccataam naaseed / raame raajany adhokshaje
“When Lord Ramacandra, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, was the King of this world, all bodily and mental suffering, disease, old age, bereavement, lamentation, distress, fear and fatigue were completely absent. There was even no death for those who did not want it.”
What more evidence do they want when Srimad Bhagavatam, Bhagavat-gita, Ramayana and so many puranas all show tangible reference to Sri Ramachandraji’ s glories? Denying all these texts means one is denying the entire vedic culture which is prevalent in this world for millions of years and is the very root of its existence. Denying the vedic tradition and spiritual values will lead only to calamity and destruction as evident from the fact that whatever sufferings were completely absent in Rama rajya (as stated in the above verse), is present in abundance in the present age. The simple reason is that we are denying the very existence of God. So many big people in the past starting from Hiranyakasipu to Kamsa, Ravana to Kalayavana and so many others were smashed to pieces for the same reason – denying God. The same thing is going to happen for these foolish demoniac agents of kali as well.
These kind of incidents behooves us to take up preaching more vigorously and spread the message of Lord Sri Krishna and Ramachandraji. The more such demoniac people deny the vedic culture, the more irreligion is going to become rampant. Observing this danger looming, Srila Prabhupada crossed the ocean to spread the vedic culture. Now because of his sincere efforts, we are atleast having some devotional programs happening across the world through the Hare Krishna movement and various other honest organizations. But this is not enough. We need to spread the holy names of Lord Sri Rama and Sri Krishna more vigorously so that we can at least help as many sincere souls to attain the lotus feet of the Lord before the world is destroyed by such atheistic propagandas.
