ISKCON Pune, India Celebrates World Holy Name Day
On 16th of Sept, 250 devotees of the Sri Sri Radha Kunjabihari Mandir in Pune hit the streets to deliver the medicine in this age of Kali Yuga – the chanting of:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
His Holiness Lokanath Swami Maharaja led the kirtan for more than one hour. World Holy Name Day Posters and banners, and placards showing the Maha Mantra, and World Holy Name Day logo, as well as pictures of Srila Prabhupada and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai made the event colorful. A powerful sound system transmitted the transcendental sound vibrations.
The annual Ganesh festival had started the night before; so many deities of Ganesh were delighted to hear the holy names, along with the thousands of people on the streets of downtown Pune. Srila Prabhupada’s books were distributed. 3000 special pamphlets describing the glories of chanting Hare Krishna. 2000 prasadam packets were distributed.
