“Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu” by Bhakti Vikasa Swami

Srila Prabhupada writes in the Preface to the ‘Nectar of Instruction’ that Gaudiya Vaisnavas are mostly followers of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. We also know from the past acaryas in the Gaudiya Vaisnava line that the mood of devotion and the way of worship of Gaudiya Vaisnavas is the highest and most complete teaching of the absolute truth and that it was taught and established by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Thus it is imperative that Gaudiya Vaisnavas be well versed with and have an appreciation for the teachings and pastimes of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

We would like to present the book ‘Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu’ by His Holiness Bhakti Vikasa Swami; a publication explaining the main pastimes of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu as well as His basic teachings. The main sources of information on the life and teachings of Caitanya Mahaprabhu are ‘Sri Caitanya-caritamrta’ and ‘Sri Caitanya-bhagavata’ and this book incorporates the essential content of both these books.

As this is a publication consisting of 176 pages, it can be read (and reread repeatedly) in a relatively short time by anyone and thus in order to mark the most auspicious occasion of Sri Gaura Purnima, the appearance day of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, we urge all members of ISKCON and other followers of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to acquire a copy and dive into the ocean of Caitanya vani and lila. Indeed even if we are familiar with the pastimes and teachings what better use of our time than to associate with Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu by reading about Him? Jay Sacinandana, Gaura Hari!

The book is available in various languages and can be procured from the links below.
