All glories to Lord Damodar and Kartik Month.
The devotees have been engaged in doing 90 minute programmes at various homes in Auckland everyday during the month of Kartik for the past 3 years. It consists of Damodar Aarati, narration of the Damodar Lila, reciting the seed verses from Bhagavad Gita and explaination followed by Mantra Meditation. The detailed report of the annual Kartik month Home programmes is as under.
Although many of the preachers were away in India about 21 preachers managed to book and conduct a total of 131 Home programmes with the help of other devotees.
Fortyfive of those programmes were new and the rest were repeat programmes, whereby people who had hosted this puja in the previous years had them again. There were a total of 1255 guests who attended this programme including the hosts. 56 books were distributed alongwith 48 pictures, 5 chanting beads and 13 CDs. A total of $3685.5 was collected as donations and would go into the temple mortgage account.
A review meeting was held on 13 Dec 2007 where the preachers shared their experiences and the impact this programme has had on the people. Kalasamvara Prabhu gave away some appreciation cards to all the preachers involved in doing the programme.
We need the blessings of the Vaishnavas to intensify our service for Kartik next year.
