Job Title Book Sales Coordinator

General Purpose
The Book Sales Coordinator’s service is to promote the culture of selling, studying, and living by the teachings of Srila Prabhupada’s books. They do this by maintaining a strong personal sadhana and study, developing loving relationships with the community of devotees, and sharing the teachings of Krishna Consciousness with a mature and compassionate mood.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Managing all areas of book distribution: Personally selling books, following up with book recipients, encouraging other book sales teams, ordering books from BBT and other publishers, organizing/maintaining book room including monthly book inventory.
Coordinating special events: Planning and facilitating book distribution and mantra meditation tables/teams at major festivals, smaller events, outreach posts in the local area, and monthly sankirtan festival. Coordinating outreach event details, including necessary permits, volunteers, prasadam, etc.
Mentoring newcomers & congregation members: Coordinating the temple’s welcome/hospitality team, mentoring new community members, helping to host the weekly Bhakti Lounge program, including marketing and communication.
Experience and Ability
Prior experience with book sales.
Commitment to regular attendance in the morning program, beginning at 4:30am.
Holds valid driver’s license.
Organization, communication, and networking skills.
Competent computer skills.
Compensation
Room and board provided on the ISKCON of DC temple property.
$1200 maximum monthly living allowance (based on monthly book sale profits).
Five weeks annual paid leave.
