Srimad Bhagavat is the precious jewel, it is an unlimited radiance of Krishna’s presence. Srimad Bhagavatam is a classic that is able to churn out endless lessons on life, personal inspirations, philosophical knowledge, a meaning to life and most importantly sweet realizations about Krishna. Its glories are limitless and it presents the rarest knowledge about the identity, nature and character of the Supreme Creator. Most of our students in the past have shared with us that they have experienced transcendental pleasure by studying Srimad Bhagavatam in Sridham Mayapur, which is imbued with the kripa-shakti of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Srila Prabhupada compared Bhagatavatam study with taking darshan of the deity of Lord Krishna, which is done gradually from His lotus feet to the lotus face. He emphasizes a step-by-step study of the Bhagavatam in his preface to Srimad Bhagavatam: “Srimad-Bhagavatam begins with the definition of the ultimate source. It is a bona fide commentary on the Vedanta-sutra by the same author, Srila Vyasadeva, and gradually it develops into nine cantos up to the highest state of God realization. The only qualification one needs to study this great book of transcendental knowledge is to proceed step by step cautiously and not jump forward haphazardly as with an ordinary book. It should be gone through chapter by chapter, one after another. The reading matter is so arranged with its original Sanskrit text, its English transliteration, synonyms, translation and purports so that one is sure to become a God-realized soul at the end of finishing the first nine cantos.”
