I’d like to share with you my appreciation of a book written by Mr. James Bruges. The book’s title is ‘The Big Earth Book’, published by Alastair Sawday Publishing Co. Ltd. It offers fantastic exposure of madness of the modern day society. It is packed with well-documented data and historical / sociological facts that could help very well to the preacher who tries to establish superiority of vedic / vaishnava tradition over materialism. I find ‘The Big Earth Book’ an excellent source of practical examples of the modern society’s madness. In short, if you want to find more about politics of climate change and pollution and how the western economics are driving the destruction of the world we know and love ‘ read this book. In particular, I would strongly recommend this book to those devotees who are still looking at the ‘glamour’ of the material society with starry eyes, hoping that it could offer something easier and better than spiritual happiness derived from bhakti-yoga. I am sure that many of those who levitate somewhere in between bhakti-yoga and materialism ‘ will again grab their japa beads with a better understanding of what materialism could really offer. The book is printed on high quality paper and has many first class photos. I bought it in Dublin for ’37, but it could be ordered online either from the publisher directly or from Amazon. com.
