Yesterday, the 8th of November, 2017 was the 90th birthday of Sri. Lal Krishna Advani, Former Deputy Prime Minister of India and Senior leader of the ruling BJP.
We had the opportunity to get a personal audience with Advani ji and hand over the deities’ Maha Garland, Mahaprasadam and Essence offered to Narasimhadeva. He expressed his sincere gratitude for the blessings of the Lord and recollected fondly, his visit to ISKCON Delhi on the occasion of Srila Prabhupada’s Appearance Day last year. He enquired about HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaja and requested me to convey his Pranams to Maharaja.
As a well-wisher of ISKCON, Shri. Advani was extremely pleased and grateful that we visited him on his birthday and offered his continuing support to ISKCON, whenever possible.We also got an opportunity to meet Shri. Venkaiah Naidu the Honorable Vice-President of India.He spoke with us for 15minutes and enquired about ISKCON’s activities around the world.
From ISKCON Communications, it could be a Best Practice to reach out to dignitaries- of the past, present and potential futures irrespective of their current designations, as political equations are dynamic and fluid.
