Kirtan In A Shanty Town (Album with photos)
Indradyumna Swami: Yesterday we went on samkirtan in a Shanty Town just outside of Durban, South Africa. People there live well below the poverty line and were extremely happy to receive prasadam. As our kirtan party wove its way through the small lanes of the township people spontaneously joined in and chanted and danced with us in great happiness. Such is the great mercy of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
“The Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is based on this principle: chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra at every moment, as much as possible, both inside and outside of the temples, and, as far as possible, distribute prasāda. …. Simply by liberal distribution of prasāda and saṅkīrtana, the whole world can become peaceful and prosperous.”
