Jusaniya devi dasi: The Council on Human Giving: Curing illnesses Without Experimenting on Animals
According to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, animal experiments are poor predictors of human birth defects. In fact, many lead us in the wrong direction entirely.
We recently learned about an organization called The Council on Human Giving, a coalition of doctors and animal protection organizations, that developed the Humane Charity Seal of Approval. This is a stamp of approval that charitable dollars are not spent on research using animals. Please visit: www. humaneseal. org to find a list of cruelty free organizations committed to promoting human health through patient services, health education, and research done without torturing and killing innocent animals. By knowing the charities on this approved list, you can donate your money to help people with various diseases knowing that you are not contributing to organizations that experiment on animals. In fact, a recent poll in the United States asked 1,000 adults how they prefer their donations be used. The majority answered that they would be more likely to donate to a health charity that does not conduct animal experiments.
It is interesting to note that the March of Dimes could help more babies by using their donations directly for prenatal and pediatric preventative health as well as nonanimal research projects. As the author of this original article stated, “We need not kill animal babies to help human babies.”
