Rath Yatra on Saturday 7/14/18
On Saturday 7/14/18, the actual day of Rath Yatra in Jagannath-Puri, Lord Jagannath gave traditional floral crown/Tahia Darshan followed by Pahandi, Chariot pulling with ecstatic kirtan. Inspired by Ananda Bazaar, clay pot (Kudwa) filled specialties were distributed along with dry bhoga in Palm leaves boxes fetched from Jagannath-Puri (India). After the Yatra, devotees offered Arati, sang Jagannathastakam, and witnessed flag hoisting. Odissi dance rendition by ISKCON Plainfield Odissi School captivated the audiences. Devotees honored Jagannath Prasad at the end. More than 1,200 devotees attended Plainfield, NJ Rath Yatra.
Dioramas on Sankha Kshetra, Garuda Stamba, Patita Pavana Jagannath and Sikhar of Jagannath Temple attracted the enthusiasm of many attendees.
On day2 celebration of ‘A Day is Sri-Jagannath-Puri’ on 7/15 Sunday, devotional drama on the ‘pastimes of great Jagannath devotee Bandhu Mohanty’ was performed.
Earlier – ISKCON Plainfield celebrated Snan Yatra on 6/24 attended by around 500 devotees and Netrotsava 7/13.
Bahuda Yatra on Saturday 7/21/18
On Saturday 7/21/18, ISKCON Plainfield Celebrated Bahuda Yatra – which signifies return of Lord Jagannnath from Gundicha Temple to Main Temple. In spite of rain more than hundred devotees participated in ecstatic kirtan during Return (Bahuda) Yatra.
