The Janmashtami celebrations at Mayapur was covered by The Times Of India

KOLKATA: Three days (S eptember 2 to 4) of festivities and fervour will mark the Janmashtami celebrations, the birthday of Lord Sri Krishna and the global ambassador of Sanatan Dharma, Swami A C Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupad, founder Acharya of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) at its spiritual headquarters, Mayapur, Nadia.
Several spiritual, devotional and cultural programmes will be held on the occasion, said Subroto Das, media spokesperson of ISKCON Mayapur.
In a letter to ISKCON, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I convey my best wishes to the whole ISKCON family, as it prepares to celebrate the Janmashtami festival. I am sure that the festival will fill the minds of all devotees with spiritual fulfilment and greater enthusiasm for service of humanity. May Lord Krishna bless our lives with peace, prosperity and happiness.”
The whole temple campus is being illuminated with dazzling lights. The build up to the mega celebrations had begun a week ago as devotees have been engaged in various activities to welcome their Lord.
