Today, November 3, 2008 marks the first anniversary of Nirguna prabhu’s departure from our mortal vision. Those of us who knew him will always remember him, for Nirguna was indeed a very special devotee and dedicated servant of Srila Prabhupada.
For those of you who did not have the opportunity to have his sanga and wish to know more about him, please refer to the article “Nirguna das, a dedicated servant” www.dandavats.com/?p=4764 for a few short anecdotes of this very sincere disciple of Srila Prabhupada.
I keep a picture of Nirguna prabhu by Srila Prabhupada’s daily quotes, and I gain inspiration every time I view his smiling face as I daily read the insightful instructions of our spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada. I am inspired by Nirguna das because he exemplified what it is to be a true follower and dedicated disciple of Srila Prabhupada. He did not pursue any self aggrandizement or recognition from his Godbrothers, but only desired to serve and please Srila Prabhupada with all his heart and soul. He was amicable, soft hearted, and a true gentle and saintly soul.
We will always miss and remember Nirguna prabhu, and we should all pray to serve Srila Prabhupada with the same fervent desire that he demonstrated.
Today, let us all offer a heartfelt prayer to Sriman Nirguna das prabhu, and try to emulate his glorious service to our eternal spiritual master, His Divine Grace, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Nirguna das prabhu ki jai!.
