Glorious Ratha Yatra Festival of Lisbon, Portugal (Album of photos)
A bright shiny sun embraced the hundreds of participants in the III Ratha Yatra Festival of Lisbon. Singing and dancing continuously, great happiness and beautiful colors flooded the streets of Lisbon on September 23rd.
While the chariot so opulently decorated was pulled, mrdangas and kartals dictated the rhythm for well-choreographed dances and the heartfelt chanting of Hare Krishna maha-mantra.
After the distribution of a very delicious prasadam, everybody enjoyed the artistic presentations by devotees from different places of the world. Dance, music, fusion of contemporary and classic, special guests as Yadunandana Maharaj and Param Gati Maharaj… the day continued in ecstatic joy.
This Festival is organized by ISKCON Lisbon with the support of the town council. Once again several institutions/communities collaborated in different ways and that has been the key of the success of this Festival throughout this three editions – all together in the service of Sri Jaganatha, Baladeva and Subhadra.
