RESOLUTION ON BRUTAL KILLINGS INSIDE A PITTSBURG SYNAGOGUE.
United Hindu-Jain Temples Association of Metropolitan Washington —Baltimore area (UHJT) extends our deepest sympathy to the Jewish Community regarding the horrific hate crime at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh that killed 11 people and injured 6 more and shocked the entire nation.
The peace-loving people of Hindu-Jain community of Washington DC Metro area and throughout USA and the world is outraged at this brutal and irrational attack in the peaceful city of Pittsburg. For centuries, the Hindu Community has welcomed all faiths including Judaism in India, the only country which has never shown anti-Semitism and has sheltered them up to this day.
We all deeply mourn the loss of lives at the Tree of Life Synagogue, Pittsburgh. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, the entire Jewish community, and all law enforcement officials in this difficult time. We earnestly pray for the early recovery of injured victims. We urge a quick investigation into this horrific crime and bring the culprit/s to justice. An attack on any one community or place of worship is an attack on every place of worship and every community. We stand in solidarity with our Jewish brothers and sisters. UHJT and Hindu Faith condemns all hate crimes, terrorism and violence. We agree with our Jewish Community that no hate crime or violence will intimidate us from practicing freely our faiths consistent with our Democratic principles.
The United Hindu and Jain Community of Greater Washington, DC metro area – a consortium of 14 temples – expresses our solidarity with the Jewish Community in order to stay strong and offer our Prayers for the lives lost and injured and their families in that shooting.
