Dedicated to His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

This video “Tuning the strings of devotion” by Mayapur Bhaktivedanta Academy, Vedic Gurukula, presents the process of musical learning of students in the field of the ancient Indian classical music from a devotional approach. As Srila Prabhupada mentions in Srimad Bhagavatam 1-6-32 (purport) the seven singing meters, namely á¹£a, á¹›e, ga, ma, pa, dha, ni are transcendental and specifically meant for transcendental songs. Through this study we seek to use these musical notes in loving devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna, employing them in congregational chanting of the Holy Name (Kirtan), bhajans, yajñas, dramas, Bhagavat Katha, etc. Video and music produced by: Mapa Studios (Madhumangala Gopa Das) Music by Sitar: Sri Bhakti Das and Bhaktivedanta Academy students Tabla: Subhadra Das Brahmacari. Raga: Bhimpalasi, revealed by Pandit Yograj Naik.
Special thanks to HH Bhaktividya Purna Swami Maharaja, directors and teachers of Bhaktivedanta Academy Sri Dham Mayapur.
