Jagannath Poddar: Radhe Radhe! Above: the photo of the inauguration of a children park developed by Friends of Vrindavan at Kailash Nagar in Vrindavan. The park was inaugurated on Makar Sankranti, 14th January, 2009 in the gracious presence of Shri R. K. Singh, Regional Officer, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Shri Roop Kishor, Pradhan, Rajpur Village Panchayat and Sri Kewal Likhiyani, Representative from the office Small Grants Programme of GEF UNDP. This park has been developed under the project of Vrindavan Kuda Prabandhan Pariyojna, which is supported by UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme. The co-financing to develop the park has been given by the U. P. Pollution Control Board and Rajpur Gram Panchayat. The development of the park has brought the community members together to revive the Residential Welfare Association of Kailash Nagar Colony to address the different issues, says Dr. D. P. Saraswat, Ex – President of the Kailash Nagar Welfare Association. Dr. Vimla Pandey a senior community member thinks that this park has given an opportunity to the children and the senior citizens to connect with the environment. It will help children to keep themselves off from the Television. It is believed that the garbage management issue of the area will be discussed in the meeting of the RWA and then will be linked to the project of Vrindavan Kuda Prabandhan Pariyojna. Since Kailash Nagar does not fall in the periphery of the Vrindavan Municipal Council, the municipal services are not provided there. There are six more parks which are to be developed in this locality. You may support us to adopt one of the park for development.

Best Regards,

Sincerely,

Jagannath Poddar
