Gopasthami Celebration in Mayapur (2018) (Album of photos)
Gopasthami is a very auspicious day in the holy month of Karttika. In Mayapur we got the most astounding darshan of Sri Sri Radha Madhav Asta-sakhi, Sri Pancha-Tattva, Sri Nrisimhadeva with the very rare and merciful darshan of the Lotus Feet of Srimati Radharani and all Asta-Sakhis. The beauty was indescribable. After Darshan Arati in the morning, devotees went to Mayapur Goshala to celebrate the day by bathing and feeding the cows. Opposite to Goshala in Vaishnava Academy HH Indradyumna Swami Maharaja arranged the most wonderful initiation ceremony where he encouraged many enthusiastic devotees to move forward in Srila Prabhupada’s movement. He also gave a beautiful lecture mentioning Radha Krishna pastimes related to Gopasthami. We had a heart melting kirtan and lecture from HG Bada Haridas Prabhu too. After that HG Chaturatma Prabhu guided all the new initiates by chanting Vedic mantras and doing fire sacrifice. We concluded the ceremony with a sumptuous feast.
