The best way to travel from Kolkata to Mayapur and back?
Ajamila Dasa Acbsp: In Mayapur, a very comfortable Ganga boat ride has been organized by a group of ISKCON devotees. I experienced a short test run on the Ganga some time back and it is the best way to travel from Kolkata and back, taking around 3.5 hours one way. No bumpy ride, no screeching road noises. Same price as a taxi but much safer.
Just sit on the very comfortable 1st class reclining airplane seats in a wind and rain protected cabin with AC and read and chant while observing through the windows the soothing sights of the Ganga. There is a refreshing outside deck section too. It has airplane style toilets, and snack prasadam is also an option. Its a great way for a group of devotees – max 42 – to arrive in Mayapur.
