Vrndavan Krishna Balarama Mandir celebrated its 19th Annual Recitation of the Sanskrit verses of the Gita Mahatmya and the Bhagavad Gita in the temple courtyard 19 Dec. 18, Moksada Ekadasi. It was a wonderful Community Event and we thank everyone for their participation, including the chanters and those who helped set things up. We began by 9:30 a.m. with a short aroti to the Bhagavad Gita, and finished the ecstatic recitation just before 12 noon, followed with Ekadasi Makana (lotus puff) Prasad, a big draw! That evening, our verse for the daily BG class was 7.18, given with video presentation by Sureshvara das. At least 1100 Bhagavad Gita’s were distributed in the temple that day. Thrilling at every moment! For your information, the following expert devotees led the chanting for an ardent crowd of more than 600 community and visiting chanters: H.H. Radha Raman Swami, Pitambara das, Trikalajna das, Gauramani devi dasi, Vishaka Saki devi dasi, Shuba Krishna das, Sureshvara das, Saranga Thakur das, Shuba Krishna’s Mother, Vishaka Priya devi dasi, Bhaktin Radhika, Krishna Kumar das, Sri Vaikuntha das, Madhua das, Bhaktin Anjali, Chaitanya Rupini dasi, and Mukunda Datta das (ACBSP). We had a last minute substitute for chapter 9 led by Shubha Krishna’s Mother. She chanted with such sublime intensity and perfection, had she led the entire recitation, we would have been finished in 1 hour! Hope your Gita Jayanti was as awesome as ours.
