Her Grace Labangalatika Devi Dasi

Her Grace Labangalatika Devi Dasi.
Pancha Tattva Dasa: Last week, at the Bhaktivedanta Hospital in Mumbai, I had the good fortune to meet Mother Labangalatika, an early disciple of Srila Prabhupada, whose son Dwarkadish also had Srila Prabhupada’s association. There is a famous picture of Dwarkadish being guided by hand in his writing lesson by Srila Prabhupada. Mother Labangalatika was there to get some tests. She was frail, but her mind was agile, and she was full of love for Srila Prabhupada and the devotees.
Dvarakadhisa Das: Thank You Pancha Tattva I didn’t know. I knew she had been quite ill for some time but didn’t know she was in the hospital. I am happy to hear a lovely Indian lady who also protects cows with her husband has been cooking for her and looking after my mom. I am ever indebted to my mom for giving me the shelter of Srila Prabhupada. My friend Jeffrey E. Dunan told me that I am so happy I was involved with the greatest social experiment on earth, otherwise; I would still be scratching me head wondering what is the purpose of my life. My mother has done so much incredible devotional service. She was one of the all-time top book distributors and money collectors in LA from 1973 to 1983. She was famous for her mangala aratik sweets that she prepared for Rukmini Dvaradhisa. She snook into Moscow in 1984 with Russian Bhagavad Gitas and passed them out on the window sills, and luckily was not caught by the KGB. She did witness people picking them up. Then she traveled by herself to many countries meeting Russians and selling them Prabhupada’s books. Her last phase has been running a goshala for almost 30 years in her farm in Maharashtra, India. Soon her book will be coming out on Amazon about her personal cow adventures.“
Thank you Pancha Tattva Dasa for spreading the love of Srila Prabhupada’s few remaining disciples.
