Kalash Yatra – Vrinda Kunda Festival (2019) (Album of photos)
Deena Bandhu Das: On 25 Feb, in honor of the 16th Anniversary of Vrinda Kunda Temple, we observed the annual Kalash Yatra, where the ladies carried colorfully decorated water-pots with coconuts on top. The procession started from Pavana Sarovar. The ladies and gurukula girls with kalashes were in the front. Then came a lively kirtan party in front of the flower-bedecked palanquin with a divine picture of Srimati Vrinda Devi. The center of attention was on the hundred girls from the Nandagram Bhaktivedanta Girls Gurukula with their nice uniforms and bright tilak. After circumambulating Nandagram, the procession entered the temple on top of the hill and finally proceeded to Vrinda Kunda where all relished the enchanting darshan of Vrinda Devi in her amazing new outfit! There was katha, kirtan, butter churning, and delicious feast for all the devotees and villagers.
