Very good news! On 16th March 2019, ISKCON Kolkata was able to get possession of the whole roof and 40% of the ground floor of the 1 Ultadanga Junction Road. After 1930, when Gaudiya Math shifted from here, this was the first time that devotees headed by HH Radhanath Swami, sat again on the rooftop where Srila Prabhupada first met his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur in 1922 and received the instruction to go to west and preach Krishna Consciousness. In 1918, one of the disciples of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur rented this whole property. It is 101 years later that devotees again got the possession of the place. After spending 9 years of chanting 192 rounds daily on the banks of Ganges, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur directly came from Mayapur, got down at Ultadanga junction and came to this building and started his preaching mission.
