World Holy Name Week 2009 begins on September 2nd and concludes on September 11th.
This year, our theme is:
“Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Srila Prabhupada’s Sannyasa”.
We are planning: three main programs
1. September 4th: 50th Anniversary Harinama Sankirtan: Each center goes out on the streets with at least 50 devotees.
2. September 5th – 6th: Internet Sankirtan Party: Centers around the world unite in simultaneous kirtan connected by internet. Some of ISKCON’s top kirtan leaders will participate.
3. September 2nd – 11th: Japathon: Devotees pledge to chant a specific number of rounds per day during the Japathon. Registration is on line, and calculated towards our goal of 10,000,000,000 Holy Names!
