Danakeli Dasi: Krishna has blessed us with a good spot for our book table in downtown San Antonio, TX, for the days leading up to Christmas—right outside a three-story mall on a busy walkway.
We had just 10 minutes remaining to our day when a nice young man happily approached our table, saying, “I was hoping I’d find you guys out here.” His name is Chance, & he has an interesting story.
When Chance was a student at TX State Univ. a few years ago, he approached the trash basket in the cafeteria to deposit something. On the lid of the container sat a copy of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s “Science of Self-realization,” so he took it. He read it & appreciated the teachings so much that he ordered a copy of Bhagavad-gītā As It Is & later purchased the first volume of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam from a bookstore. He’s now vegetarian & tries to chant Hare Krishna a little, though he wasn’t sure of the proper pronunciation.
We gave him KRSNA Book, japa beads & an invitation to the local center, which he enthusiastically promised to visit soon.
