Our movement is a good-news movement!

Our Good News Increases!
Vijaya Dasa: Recently, I spoke on the Bhagavad-gita in Oslo, Norway, at the Sunday program. One point I made is that there is so much bad news. But people like to hear it, and thus worldwide they read the latest news in the morning before or while going to work and in the evening when they return.

Prabhupada said his disciples don’t read the news, because it’s all bad news. No one walks away inspired after hearing bad news. Our morning news is the Srimad Bhagavatam, but that is all good news. In the evening there’s more good news in the Bhagavad-gita. Our movement is a good-news movement.

In Brazil, a radio station advertised itself as the Good News Channel. It was broadcasting just good news, but after six months the station ran out of good news and went out of business. Kali-yuga! But we don’t run out. For fifty years, all our temples have given people the good news, and for the next 9,500 years it will continue.

After the class, a man spoke with me and said, “Thanks for the class. It was interesting. It’s nice to see you again. Twenty-six years ago, you gave me a Bhagavad-gita in the Los Angeles airport. I read it and became a devotee.”

I said, “Well, that’s more good news. We plant so many seeds by book distribution, but we so seldom know the results. So it’s nice to find out that some seeds have sprouted and produced fruits.”

His name is Marga Mana Dasa, and he distributed books for many years sharing the good news he had received.
